Disodium Phosphate Dodecahydrate
Synonyms: Disodium Hydrogen Phosphate; Sodium Phosphate Dibasic; Disodium Monohydrogen Phosphate; Disodium Monophosphate; DSP.
Disodium Phosphate Dodecahydrate is a kind of white crystals or granules. Density 1.524g/ml. It is water soluble. CAS#7558-79-4. However, it is insoluble in alcohol.
Usage:
Disodium Phosphate Dodecahydrate commonly is used in biological assay buffers.
Sodium is required for nerve and muscle functioning. Sodium Phosphate Dibasic can be used as a dietary supplement and as a nutrient. In food, it as a sequestrant.
In water treatment, it is applied in conjunction with trisodium phosphate, retards calcium scale formation. It is also found in some detergents, cleaning agents and pH buffer solutions.
This product is known to be used in many applications including the purification of antibodies. It is used as a saline laxative to treat constipation or to clean the bowel before a colonoscopy.
