Application:
1 It is used as an analytical reagent for chromatography and also for organic synthesis.
2 1, 4-butanediol is widely used. In the United States and Western Europe, more than half of it is used in the production of tetrahydrofuran, followed by the production of γ-butyrolactone and polybutylene terephthalate, which is a rapidly developing engineering plastic; 1, 4-butanediol is used as chain extender and polyester raw material in the production of polyurethane elastomers and soft polyurethane foams. The esters obtained from 1, 4-butanediol are good plasticizers for cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, polyacrylate and polyester. 1, 4-butanediol has good hygroscopic flexibility and can be used as a gelatin softener and water absorbent, as a treatment agent for cellophane and other non-paper. N-methylpyrrolidone, n-vinylpyrrolidone and other pyrrolidone derivatives are also used in the preparation of vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides and solvents, plasticizers, lubricants, humidifiers, softeners, adhesives and brighteners for the electroplating industry.
3 Reagent for chemical analysis, used as a stationary liquid for gas chromatography. Used as solvent, non-toxic antifreeze agent, food emulsifier, hygroscopic agent, for organic synthesis. Pharmaceutical, food industry.
