1- naphthalene sulfonate sodium salt, also known as a- naphthalene sulfonate sodium salt, pure white powder. The chemical formula is C10H7SO3Na, and the melting point is 299-301 oC. Irritant to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. 1- naphthalenesulfonic acid is usually obtained by sulfonation of naphthalenesulfonic acid, which is neutralized and salted out by sodium hydroxide. It can be used as detection reagent for high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and stationary phase for gas chromatography (GC).

USE:
Sodium 1-naphthalene sulfonate can be used as an ion-pair detection reagent for the retention behavior of Cu(II) -1-oxa-4, 7, 10, 13-tetraazacyclopentadecane (Cu(II)-OTACP) complexes in high performance liquid chromatography. It can also be used as a stationary phase for the resolution of dichlorophenol isomers in gas chromatography (GC) [1] [1]. In addition, 1-naphthalene sulfonate is also a common co-surfactant, and surfactant complex, can change the microstructure and properties of the surfactant.
