Function and application:
Ivermectin is a new type of high-efficiency semi-synthetic antibiotic insecticide, acaricide and nematicide. It is an insect nerve agent and biological penetrant. The mechanism of action is to interfere with the neurophysiological activities of pests, stimulate the release of γ-aminobutyric acid, act on the nerve and muscle junctions, increase the release of chloride ions, and inhibit the information transmission of the nerve junctions, resulting in paralysis and death of pests and mites. Its product is colorless or light brownish yellow liquid. Ivermectin is a new type of broad-spectrum, high-efficiency, low-toxicity antibiotic antiparasitic drug, which has a good repellent effect on parasites inside and outside the body, especially nematodes and arthropods. But it has no effect on tapeworms, flukes and protozoa. The repellent effect of macrolide antiparasitic drugs on nematodes and arthropods is to increase the release of the inhibitory transmitter γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and to open the Cl ion channel controlled by glutamate. Enhance the permeability of the nerve membrane to Cl, thereby blocking the transmission of nerve signals, and eventually nerve paralysis, causing muscle cells to lose the ability to contract, which leads to the death of the worm.
