Chitin nature:
It is white and amorphous powder, odorless and tasteless. It can be dissolved in dimethylacetamide or concentrated acid containing 8% lithium chloride; insoluble in water, dilute acid, alkali, ethanol or other organic solvents. In nature, chitin is widely found in the shell of crustaceans such as lower plant fungi, shrimp, crab, insects and so on, and cell walls of higher plants. It is a kind of linear high molecular polysaccharide, that is, natural neutral mucopolysaccharide. If acetyl group is removed by concentrated alkali treatment, it is necessary to deacetylate chitosan polysaccharide. Chitin is not active in chemistry, and does not change with body fluids, does not cause foreign body reaction to tissues, is non-toxic, and has the characteristics of anti thrombus and high temperature disinfection. Deacetylated chitosan is an alkaline polysaccharide, which has the functions of acid inhibition and anti inflammation, and can reduce cholesterol and blood lipid.
Chitin purpose:
Chitin is widely used, for example: (1) chromatographic carrier; (2) environmental protection: Chitin and its derivatives have good chelating ability for many metals, especially for some harmful metals that will cause serious environmental pollution, such as mercury, cadmium, copper, nickel, chromium, etc., so it has a bright future in water purification, sewage treatment, etc. (3) Decontamination of radioactive contamination: many of the causes of radioactive contamination are derivatives of radioactive transition elements, which can be removed by chitosan. (4) Comprehensive utilization of ore: it is an effective collector for zirconium, niobium and rubidium. (5) Glass fiber finishing agent (6) application in dye industry: chitosan can be made into high polymer dyes. (7) Additives for paper industry (8) finishing agents for other fabrics (9) photographic industrial materials
The polar method of shadow and development is made of chitosan with wear resistance and sensitive ability. (10) Medical and surgical supplies: glucosamine, a hydrolysate of chitin, is used in the treatment of enteritis, colonic ulcers and pneumonia. D-glucosamine or N-acetylglucosamine can be used as a chemotherapeutic agent for some tumors. Chitin can help to dissolve bacteria. It can also be used as blood anticoagulant, wound healing agent, etc. Using chitin to make surgical suture, artificial skin and wound dressing, human hematopoiesis and hemostatic sponge, contact glasses and drug carrier has good effect. Other uses include adhesives, cigarette paper fillers, leather finishing agents, flocculants and so on. In addition, it is widely used in enzyme immobilization, seasoning, beverage and daily chemical products.
