Appearance: Colorless, oily liquid.

Application: Used as solvent and humectant, also used in the manufacture of plasticizers, drugs, polyester resin, polyurethane resin, etc.

Used as a reagent for chromatographic analysis, also in organic synthesis

Used as a chain builder and polyester feedstock in the production of polyurethane elastomers and flexible polyurethane foams; the resulting esters are good plasticizers for cellulose, PVC, polyacrylates and polyesters. Good hygroscopic flexibility, used as a gelatin softener and water absorbent, and as a treatment agent for cellophane and other unused paper. It is also used in the preparation of N-methylpyrrolidone, N-vinylpyrrolidone and other pyrrolidone derivatives, as well as in the preparation of vitamin B6, pesticides, herbicides and lubricants for various processes, softness, adhesives and brighteners for the electroplating industry.

Cross-linking agent for the manufacture of polyurethane elastomers, for the manufacture of tetrahydrofuran.
