What is Dyclonine Hydrochloride?
Dyclonine Hydrochloride is an oral anesthetic, it is the active ingredient of sulk, is a more than the back of the throat lozenges. There are also some varieties of Cepacol sore throat spray also found. It is a local anesthetic and is used locally as a hydrochloride salt. In addition to its local anesthetic properties, it has been found that dacronine hydrochloride has significant bactericidal and fungicidal activity. After the addition of chlorobutanol, the suicide effect of the drug preparation was significantly enhanced. In vitro studies of microbes that are commonly involved in topical infection have shown that these two combinations act synergistically.
Storage:
Stored in a cool and dry well-closed container.
Keep away from moisture and strong light/heat.
Shelf life:24 months at normal temperature, drying and sealed conditions
Fuction and Application:
Dyclonine reversibly binds to activated sodium channels on the neuronal membrane, thereby decreasing the neuronal membrane's permeability to sodium ions, leading to an increased threshold for excitation. This reversibly stabilizes the membrane and inhibits depolarization, leading to the failure of a propagated action potential and subsequent conduction
