Procaine is a local anesthetic. It is commonly used clinically in hydrochloride, also known as "novocaine". White crystal or crystalline powder, soluble in water.Used for infiltration anesthesia, lumbar anesthesia, "closed therapy" and so on. In addition to the overdose caused by the central nervous system and cardiovascular system reaction, occasionally allergic reactions, should be done before the use of skin allergy test. Its metabolite to aminobenzoic acid (PABA) can weaken the antibacterial effect of sulfonamides.
