Stearyl alcohol can be used instead of cetyl alcohol, such as in cosmetics as cream, emulsifier, as well as rice insulation, reservoir covering agent, defoamer, polish, lubricant and so on. Stearyl alcohol can be used in the production of flat nail, resin and synthetic rubber, color forming film color forming agent. Stearyl alcohol reacts with β- (3, 5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) methyl propionate at 130℃ for 2-3h with sodium methanol as catalyst and dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent to obtain antioxidant 1076(2082-79-3). Stearyl alcohol is widely used in polyolefin, polyamide, polyester, polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene, ABS resin, to expand a variety of rubber petroleum products.
