Buta-1,3-diene;2-ethenylpyridine;styrene, also known as styrene butadiene styrene (SBS) polymer, is a bitumen modifier[1].
Bitumen modified with Buta-1,3-diene;2-ethenylpyridine;styrene show more resistance to rutting, cracking, fatigue, low-temperature cracking, stripping, aging, and temperature susceptibility.
Bitumen modified with styrene butadiene styrene polymer does not show expected field performance in high and low temperatures largely due to phase separation of bitumen and polymer. It lacks storage stability and
degrades under the influence of UV light and also oxygen. In response to this problem, the results of pertinent studies have shown that modification of pure bitumen with nanomaterials
improves high- and middle-temperature performance[1].
