A method for preparing 2-Acetylamino-propionic acid, characterized by the following steps: D,L-alanine and acetic acid are mixed in a molar ratio of 1:6, heated to 60°C, and stirred and kept at this temperature for 3 hours; acetic anhydride, equivalent to 1.2 times the molar number of the amino acids, is uniformly added over 4 hours, and the mixture is stirred and kept at 60°C for 2 hours; rapid distillation is carried out under a vacuum of 0.08 MPa and at 70°C until the distilled liquid is 1.2 times the volume of acetic acid added; then water, equal to the mass of the amino acids, is added, stirred, and cooled until crystals precipitate; the mixture is left to stand for 6 hours, and the solid and liquid are separated; the solid is dried to obtain 2-Acetylamino-propionic acid.
