4-Chloropyrimidine-2-carbaldehyde can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate in the preparation of heterocyclic inhibitors of EGFR and/or HER2. The active molecules produced by this synthesis are used in cancer treatment.
Reactions
4-Chloropyrimidine-2-carbaldehyde can be reacted with DAST under a nitrogen atmosphere at −78 °C with stirring for 2 hours to synthesise 4-chloro-2-(difluoromethyl)pyrimidine.
