Colorless viscous oily liquid. Insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol and perfume oils, poorly soluble in propylene glycol.

Geranoxy acetaldehyde is a analogous with the preparation of Citronellyl oxyacetaldehyde. One commercial product consists almost entirely of Citronellyl oxyacetaldehyde with minor bouquetting additives and by-products included.
