Aminopyralid-potassium is produced by first manufacturing technical aminopyralid, built through chlorination, coupling, and controlled cyclisation steps that form the pyridine-carboxylic acid herbicide core. Once the free-acid is available, it is converted into the potassium salt to improve water solubility and stability. This conversion is straightforward: aminopyralid is dissolved or suspended in water or a mixed solvent system and treated with potassium hydroxide under controlled pH, forming the potassium carboxylate.
Systemic, post-emergence action, absorbed by leaves and roots, some residual action. Works by mimicking plant growth hormones (auxins), leading to uncontrolled growth and eventual plant death
