Debacarb is a broad spectrum fungicide. Very little data is available regarding its environmental fate, ecotoxicology or impact on human health.
The commercial production process of debacarb is not described in open literature. However, based on its structure and on standard commercial practice for benzimidazole carbamate fungicides, production would have involved first preparing the benzimidazol 2 yl carbamate core, then esterifying it with the 2 (2 ethoxyethoxy)ethanol side chain under controlled conditions, followed by purification and standardization to technical grade.
