Hydrocarbon waxes (petroleum), hydrotreated microcryst. is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by treating a petroleum microcrystalline wax with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst. It consists predominantly of long, branched chain hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C25 through C50.
