THYMINE, [METHYL-3H] is a key intermediate in the synthesis of anti-HIV drugs AZT, DDT, and related drugs. As an important component of DNA, it participates in cell growth and regeneration processes. Primarily used as a laboratory chemical reagent, it is widely applied in DNA analysis, genetic engineering, and biomedical research. It is also used to prepare DNA probes, primers, and techniques such as nucleic acid hybridization and polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
