Vetiveryl acetate

Vetiveryl acetate is used as a fixative in many perfumes, meaning it helps to intensify and prolong the fragrance. In addition to its woody scent, vetiveryl acetate also has green and floral notes that make it a versatile ingredient in perfume-making.

ChEBI: Vetiveryl acetate is a sesquiterpenoid.

Vetiveryl acetate is produced by direct acetylation of the whole Vetiver essential oil and contains more accessory alcohols so it has a slightly higher IFRA limit and a more complex drydown.

A skin irritant. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke andirritating fumes.
