HT 1080 has been used to demonstrate th at type I collagen induces matrix metallopeptidase 2 (MMP-2) activation. It has also been used to study the roles of Ras-related C3 botulinum toxin substrate 1 and 2 (Rac1 and Rac2) in regulating morphology, F-actin organization, adhesion, migration and chemotaxis of HT1080 cells.
