The raw material compound was mixed with aluminum chloride and then the reaction was heated to 100 °C. After 15 minutes, heat the reactants to 180 °C. Cool the mixture to room temperature after 3 h. Add ethyl acetate to the reaction solution and stir for 2 h. The resulting organic phase is dried on anhydrous sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure. After purification, 4-fluoro-7-hydroxy-1-indanone was obtained.
