Calcium orthoborate, (Ca3(BO3)3), also called Gerstley
borate, is a bluish white crystal with a very defined
structure. It can be prepared by reacting sodium borate
in solution or by reacting Ca metal with boric acid.
The resulting product is calcium orthoborate. A hydrate
is obtained from the solution method.
