First, 8.35g concentration of 36% formaldehyde aqueous solution and 18.1g concentration of 32% glyoxal aqueous solution was added to 250mL three-necked flask, stirring and heating to 50 reflux, and then 6.05g concentration of 28% of ammonia and benzylamine methanol solution (dosage of 10.7g of benzylamine dissolved in 50mL methanol) was added to the three-necked flask drop by drop, add the end of the reaction continue to reflux 4h, evaporated methanol, poured into ice water, extracted with ethyl acetate, and then concentrated by rotary evaporation at 40 , and then vacuum dried at 60 for 24h to obtain light yellow N-benzyl imidazole solid, the yield was about 75%.
