D-Gentiobiose is incorporated in the chemical structure of Crocin (C794945); a natural carotenoid derived from the flowers crocus and gardenia, that has been shown to be a potent antioxidant. Also shown to have an antiproliferative action against cancer cells in vitro. Possible antidepressant properties.
