(Octahydro-4,7-methylene-1H-indene-1,5-ylidene)bis(methylene) diacrylate is in liquid state at room temperature and has good solubility in common organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, etc.. It contains acrylate functional group, it can carry out addition reaction, polymerization reaction and so on.

• As a monomer in the synthesis or modification of the multifunctional acrylic polymers for solid-phase microextraction fibers.
• As a monomer in the synthesis of (meth) acrylate resins for the development of 3D printing resins to improve impact strength.
• A cross-linking acrylic monomer for the development of denture base resins with improved mechanical properties and biocompatibility by modifying the resinμs composition and incorporating new functionalities. These denture base resins are used in dental applications.

TDDMDA has a high refractive index, which is desirable in optical coatings as it can be used to control the reflective and transmissive properties of the coated surface.

Tricyclo[5.2.1.0^2,6]decanedimethanol diacrylate is an acrylate monomer that has low shrinkage and high refractive index. It can be used in the synthesis of shape memory polymers for the fabrication of optoelectronic and stretchable electronic devices. It can also be used in the formation of holographic polymer dispersed liquid crystals (HPDLCs).
