Paichongding is a type of neonicotinoid insecticide.

Paichongding is produced through a modular neonicotinoid-style manufacturing route in which the chloropyridinyl fragment and the chiral heterocyclic amide fragment are prepared separately and then joined in a late stage coupling step. Commercial production begins with constructing the 2-chloro-5-pyridyl moiety via controlled chlorination and substitution chemistry, while the tetrahydropyrimidinone-derived side chain is synthesised through stepwise cyclisation and alkylation designed to establish the correct stereochemistry. These two intermediates are then coupled through nucleophilic substitution on an activated leaving group, forming the final insecticidal scaffold.
