Cyclopropanecarbothioamide is used for purification of thiazolo [5, 4-b] pyridine-and thiazolo [5, 4-c] pyridine derivatives from chloronitropyridines and thioamides, or thioureas during the simple-step reaction. It is also a useful chemical during the proteomics study. Recent study has also used it for synthesis of a novel heterocyclic compound, CE-125, which can improve working memory in the radial arm maze and modulate the dopamine receptor D1R in frontal cortex of the Sprague-Dawley rat.
