A 26771B is a macrolide antibiotic originally isolated from P. turbatum. It is active against S. aureus, S. faecalis, V. coli, M. gallisepticum, M. granularum, M. synoviae, M. hyosynoviae, M. hyopneumoniae, E. amylovora, P. multocida, and X. phaseoli bacteria (MICs = <0.78-50 μg/ml). A 26771B is active against various methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) strains (MICs = 6-16 μg/ml). A 26771B is also active against C. tropicalis, T. mentagrophytes, B. cinerea, C. ulmi, and V. albo-atrum fungi (MICs = 6.25-100 μg/ml).
