Off-white flaky crystals, melting point 221.5-222.5℃. Soluble in water and ethanol. M-chloroaniline is colorless to light amber liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in acid, ethanol, ether. Relative density 1.233 (15/15 ℃), refractive index 1.5931, flash point 123 ℃, melting point -10.4 ℃, boiling point 230.5 ℃, 118.5 ℃ (2.8kPa). M-chloroaniline is toxic, can be absorbed by the skin, hemolytic, oral LD50=880mg/kg in mice.
FAST ORANGE GC SALT is used as a color developer for dyeing and printing cotton fibers and their fabrics. It can be coupled with naphthol AS to dye red light orange.
