This alkaloid from Lunasia costulata Miq. is probably identical with the lunacridine obtained by Dieterle and Beyl. It is optically inactive and the solutions
exhibit a strong blue fluorescence in ultraviolet light.
Lunamarine is a inhibitor of PDE5 with BBB permeability. Lunamarine can be used in the reseach of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) and Erectile Dysfunction (ED)[1].
