Bisthiosemi is an obsolete rodenticide. Very little information has been published regarding its environmental fate, ecotoxicology or impact on human health other than it being highly toxic to mammals via the oral route.
Bisthiosemi was historically produced on a commercial scale through synthetic condensation of hydrazinecarbothioamide derivatives with formaldehyde, yielding a crystalline solid.
