Manoalide is a natural sesterterpenoid which irreversibly inhibits secretory phospholipase A2 isoforms from human synovium, bee venom, and cobra venom (IC50 values are 3.9, 7.5, and 2 μM, respectively). It also potently blocks calcium channels (IC50 = 1 μM) and inhibits phospholipase C (IC50 = 1.5 μM). Manoalide can be used in biochemical, cellular, and in vivo experiments.
