Fetuin has been used in studies of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Fetuin has also been used in studies to demonstrate its protective role in the development of arterial calcification. Fetuins have been implicated in several diverse functions, including osteogenesis and bone resorption, hepatocyte growth factor receptors, and response to systemic inflammation.
