JWH 176 is a cannabimimetic indene hydrocarbon with high affinity for the central cannabinoid (CB1) receptor (Ki = 26 nM). It was originally prepared to examine the roles of hydrogen bonding involving the carbonyl group and aromatic stacking in CB1 receptor docking studies.
