JWH 176 is a cannabimimetic indene hydrocarbon with high affinity for the central cannabinoid (CB₁) receptor (K_i = 26 nM). It was originally prepared to examine the roles of hydrogen bonding involving the carbonyl group and aromatic stacking in CB₁ receptor docking studies. This product is intended for forensic and research applications.

JWH 176 is a new cannabimimetic indole that showed interactions with the CB1 Cannabinoid receptor.
