Glucagon Receptor Antagonist, Control is a cell-permeable thienyl-amide compound that serves as an inactive control for Glucagon Receptor Antagonist. Glucagon Receptor Antagonist, Control displays weak affinity for hGCGR and is ineffective when preventing glucagon binding (20% inhibition at 10 μM in membranes prepared from CHO-hGCGR) and glucagon-, forskolin-, and GIP-induced cAMP production (10% inhibition in CHO-hGCGR cells). Only minimally suppresses glucagon-induced glycogenolysis in human primary hepatocytes.
