Description
D-myo-Inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate hexasodium salt is a secondary messenger molecule released as a product of polyphosphoinositide metabolism. IP3 is described to bind the Inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (InsP3) and stimulate the mobilization of internal Ca2+ stores, generating local and global Ca2+ signals which regulate a range of cell processes.
