Ambergris ketone is white crystal, m.p.199~201℃. The solubility in acetone is 10g/L, soluble in organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide and pyridine, but insoluble in water. It is easy to decompose in case of alkali or strong acid, and it is relatively stable in storage under normal conditions, and is also stable to light and heat.
