Description
Eslicarbazepine (also known as (S)-10-Monohydroxy-10,11-dihydro Carbamazepine) is a voltage-gated sodium channel (Nav) inhibitor and the active metabolite of the prodrug eslicarbazepine acetate. It enhances the slow activation of voltage-gated sodium channels, thereby reducing channel availability. Eslicarbazepine is an oral anticonvulsant used as an adjunctive treatment for partial-onset seizures.
