It has a role as a mouse metabolite. It is a phosphatidylcholine 38:4 and a 1-acyl-2-arachidonoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine. It is functionally related to an octadecanoic acid.

It is essential for maintaining the structure and functions of the membrane. PC is the precursor for various second messenger like phosphatidic acid, lysophosphatidic acid, diacylglycerol.
