4-Carboxybenzediazonium tetrafluoroborate is a nanosheet that has been used as an adsorbent for the removal of benzene and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from air. It is also used in the purification of l-cysteine, which is an amino acid with antioxidant properties. 4-Carboxybenzediazonium tetrafluoroborate can be functionalised with cationic dyes such as erythrosin B to optimise its adsorption capacity. This material has been shown to have good ionic conductivity and high surface area, which make it suitable for use in electrochemical devices.
