? ACTH fragment 18-39 MALDI-MS standard has been used as a peptide calibration standard for matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI)-mass spectrometry (MS) instruments.
General Description
Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is synthesized from its precursor pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC). It is released from anterior pituitary gland in response to corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) from hypothalamus. The gene encoding ACTH is localized on human chromosome 2p23.3.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Facilitatory effect exerted on paradoxical sleep in the rat: stimulates insulin release.
