Description
This alkaloid from Cassytha americana (Syn. c. filiform is L.) is obtained as a
microcrystalline powder which is dextrorotatory with [α]
D + 228.7°. It is found
in the alkali-insoluble aporphine portion of the alkaloidal extract of the plant.
One methoxyl group, one hydroxyl and a methylenedioxy group are present.
