Uses
Exotoxin A, Pseudomonas aeruginosa is protein synthesis inhibitor via Bak expression level regulation.
General Description
Pseudomonas exotoxin A is secreted by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is a member of the family mono-ADP-ribosyltransferases.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Pseudomonas exotoxin A functions as an anticancer agent. It catalyses the transfer of ADP-ribose moiety of NAD+ to the histidine imidazole ring of diphthamide.Shown to be toxic to animals and to cell lines, and to inhibit protein synthesis via ADP ribosylation of elongation factor 2.
