2,4-DINITROPHENYL THIOCYANATE is an organic compound that is mainly used as an intermediate in organic synthesis, as well as in the synthesis of drugs and biochemical analysis.
Synthesis
In the reaction vessel installed with stirrer, thermometer, reflux condenser, add 2,4-dinitrobenzene (2) 0.32 mol, mass fraction of 60% cyclohexane 500 ml, stannous chloride 0.31 mol, thiocyanomethylamine solution 0.51 mol, control stirring speed of 150 rpm, increase the temperature of the solution to 80 C, maintain reflux for 5h, reduce the solution temperature to 5 C, and the organic layer was separated, the aqueous layer was extracted with mass fraction of 70% acetonitrile, combined with the organic layer, washed by ammonium nitrate solution, washed by mass fraction of 80% ethylenediamine, activated alumina dehydration. Separate the organic layer, the aqueous layer was extracted with 70% acetonitrile, the organic layer was combined, washed with ammonium nitrate solution, washed with 80% ethylenediamine, dehydrated with activated alumina, and recrystallized in 90% nitromethane, obtaining the crystal thiocyanic acid-2,4-dinitrophenyl ester 52.26g, yield 73%.
