Description
CAY10731 is a fluorescent probe for hydrogen sulfide (H
2S).
1 Upon reaction with H
2S, fluorescein (FITC) is released and its fluorescence can be used to detect H
2S. FITC displays excitation/emission maxima of 485/535 nm, respectively. CAY10731 is selective for H
2S over glutathione (GSH), cysteine, H
2O
3-, SO
3-, and H
2O
2 as well as
tBuO and OH radicals. It has been used to detect H
2S in rat hippocampal slices and nematodes.
