Synthesis
Rk2 is generally obtained by hydrolyzing ginsenoside diols, but the hydrolysate is complex, making it difficult to separate and accurately identify its structure. High-purity ginsenoside Rk2 can be obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis, and the hydrolysis product can be confirmed by high-resolution mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance.

Chemical Properties
White crystalline powder, soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, and DMSO, derived from ginseng.
Uses
Ginsenoside RK2 exhibits in vitro cytotoxicity against five human cancer cell lines. Also, it exhibits inhibitory effect on LPS-induced IL-12 production.
