Chemical Properties
This product is colorless or light yellow flake crystal, odorless, slightly bitter taste. Melting point 147-149 ℃. In case of light, the color gradually deepens. Easily soluble in ether, chloroform, soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in water or alkali solution.
Uses
Tetrahydropalmatine is a central nervous system depressant with analgesic, sedative, hypnotic and stabilizing effects. Oral administration is easy to absorb, and the analgesic effect occurs quickly. Its analgesic effect is weaker than pethidine (demerol), but stronger than general antipyretic analgesics.
Side effects
Occasionally dizziness, fatigue or nausea, large doses of D-tetrahydropalmatine have a certain inhibitory effect on the respiratory center, and sometimes can cause extrapyramidal symptoms.
