6 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of levetiracetam by GC- or LC-MS. Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic agent that binds to the synaptic vesicle protein SV2A (IC
50 = 1.99 μM).
In vivo, levetiracetam suppresses seizures in fully kindled rats.
