Reactivity Profile
3,3-dimethyl-1-phenyltriazene neutralizes acids in exothermic reactions to form salts plus water. May be incompatible with isocyanates, halogenated organics, peroxides, phenols (acidic), epoxides, anhydrides, and acid halides. Flammable gaseous hydrogen may be generated in combination with strong reducing agents, such as hydrides.

Poison by ingestion and
intraperitoneal routes. Questionable
carcinogen with experimental carcinogenic
and tumorigenic data. Experimental
teratogenic effects. Human mutation data
reported. Decomposes explosively on
attempted distillation at atmospheric
pressure. When heated to decomposition it
emits toxic fumes of NOx
