Description
Emamectin (27) is an amino group-containing avermectin analog. These unusually potent compounds selectively stimulate glutamate hydrochloride chloride ion channels in parasites in vivo and in vitro. A related macrolide lacking the disaccharide moiety at C-13 is biologically active as a milbemycin with activity similar to avermectin.
Uses
Emamectin-d3 is deuterium labeled emamectin, a soluble derivative of avermectin and used as┬аparasiticide and insecticide.┬аEmamectin┬аactivates glutamate-gated chloride channels.
Definition
ChEBI: Emamectin B1a is a member of emamectins.
Synthesis
Emamectin can be isolated from the fermentation of Streptomyces, a naturally occurring soil actinomycete.
